Paul Bonitatibus
Paul J. Bonitatibus, business partner of Performance Potential, is an experienced senior executive providing advisory and execution services to financial institutions in the $100 million to $30 billion asset size. He brings 40 years of experience to developing infrastructure strategies, implementing integration plans, and ultimately overseeing components of successful execution.
Bonitatibus was president and chief executive officer of First Metropolitan Bank, located in Metairie, La., when that company merged with New Orleans-based Hibernia National Bank in 1985. At Hibernia, he served in numerous senior management positions, including chief community banking executive before being named, president of consumer and business banking for the company in 2003.
Hibernia’s community banking
operation accounted for a significant portion of the company’s total
revenue and staff. Bonitatibus was responsible for the branch network in
Louisiana and Texas, Small Business Banking, Mortgage Banking, the
Wealth Management Division, Community Development (CRA compliance), and
Corporate Education.
Hibernia National Bank and Capital One Financial Corp. completed their
merger in November 2005, making Hibernia the Banking segment of Capital
One. Bonitatibus continued in his role as Consumer and Business Banking
Arena Manager for Capital One’s growing Banking segment until 2007.
Bonitatibus is a founding owner of Hibernia Consultants, LLC providing
executive advisory services to financial institutions. Having served
over the years on numerous educational, medical, and community boards,
Bonitatibus now enjoys volunteering weekly in the kitchen of the Second
Harvester Food Bank and as an active sponsor of the 5th grade “Notre
Dame” class at Success Preparatory Academy, an inner city charter school
in New Orleans.
Bonitatibus graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and international relations and in 1981 from the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. Bonitatibus is a past president of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association and served a two year term on the University's Board of Trustees.
